DESCRIPTION
According to Representation of People Act, when a Parliamentary seat becomes vacant for any reason except dissolution of Parliament a by-election shall be held. Following the sudden demise of MP Jerry Kanas, a by-election for the constituency where he was elected had to be called.

- Electoral campaign: 16 August – 30 August 2019 (midnight)
- Closing of proxy application forms: 16 August 2019 (4h30 pm)
- Closing of issuing of “duplicate” voter cards: 16 August 2019 (4h30 pm)
- Closing of accreditation of party and candidate agents: 31 August 2019 (4h30 pm)
